As a runner, when you suffer an injury, things get a little...murky. When I first aggravated my IT band back in October, I heard from fellow runners that it took them 3 weeks to heal (I wish) to 6 months (omg!).
Here I am, 9 months later, still not anywhere near where I was. Of course, I'm way better - I can run for several minutes at a time, and I've done a few 5Ks. While I can run, I feel like I've lost any ability to call myself a runner. Life without running is a pain in the ass, especially...
And so on and so on. I've been struggling to find anything to write about on here, since it's hard to get excited about running one minute intervals on the treadmill. Still, that's where I'm at - my typical treadmill workout includes alternating walking and running for up to a 5K (so far) and I've been able to get through it without any pain. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't wishing I could be out there sweating again for a fall marathon. For now, I'm content with just sweating a little.
