Certain foods are amazing no matter what.
Waffles are one of these foods!
Back up north I always went to the diner (I miss diners) with my friend Casey. After a night at the bar in college, a waffle and coffee (at 2 AM...) at the diner was the perfect ending. The thing is, waffles can be full of sugar, especially when you top them with whipped cream like I always did.
While surfing Instagram one day, I came across a waffle recipe by one of my favorite fitness girls, Hannah. It's equal parts cottage cheese, ground up oatmeal, and egg whites. I thought it sounded disgusting.
But, I got bored one day and decided to try it. It needed a little something, since I didn't want to top it with 1,000 random things and defeat the healthiness of it.
To make my waffle, use 1/4 cup of oatmeal ground into a flour, egg whites, and cottage cheese. Then add 2 tbsp of peanut butter protein powder and 1 tsp of honey. Make sure everything is mixed well before you spread it on your waffle maker. It made just enough to not overflow in my Mickey maker. Cook for 6-8 minutes. I topped mine with a little bit of peanut butter, honey, and some sprinkles just because!
Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate! And sometimes, real food!
