I wasn't a Girl Scout when I was little, but I've always been a fan of their cookies. My favorites are Tagalongs, Samoas, and Thin Mints, but only if the thin mints are frozen. Try it!
I was at Publix last weekend picking up some nonessentials and I noticed the Girl Scouts were set up outside. I picked up two boxes of Tagalongs for my brother's birthday (his favorite) and when I got home, I was jealous that I didn't get any for myself. For the past few years, I've wondered what it would be like to bake with magic cookies, so I finally set out to see.
Guess what time of year it is?
It's really easy - I made a batch of my favorite chocolate chip cookie dough (you can use any recipe that you like) and split it in half so that I could try out the two different flavors. I used half a box of Tagalongs in one bowl and half a box of Samoas in the other. Simply crush up the cookies and mix them into your dough. Easy as pie! (Or, you know, cookie)
I only made one pan's worth to test them out, but they came out awesome! I definitely want to try this with other kinds of cookies, but I don't know if it would work too well with Thin Mints.
What's your favorite Girl Scout cookie?
Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate! And sometimes, real food!
