With the holidays in full swing, it can be tough to pick out gifts for certain people in your life. For me and my family, we want to give to our mechanic and lawn guy. Mom asked if I would bake, and I never turn down a chance to bake something.
Since I am an epic fail at making sugar cookies, it was chocolate chip all the way. I followed my favorite recipe, but I needed something special. Right now I have lots of Christmas themed sprinkles in the pantry, but those are for funfetti cookies next week. I ran to Target and found these:
With this recipe, I added about a cup of the mini M&Ms to my cookie batter, along with a cup or so of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Of course, adjust as you feel needed. Some people need a little extra sweet in their lives!
I feel like there's something extra special about baking cookies for people - anyone can just pick up a container at the store, but making something yourself just feels different. My Secret Santa at work is getting some, so hopefully she likes cookies. You can find cookie tins everywhere, but I always get mine at the dollar store since they fit the perfect amount, and they're really cute! Dollar Tree really stepped it up this year, and they have containers of all sizes for your baked goods.
Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate! And sometimes, real food!
