I'm a fan of simple baking. Whenever I hear someone critique their own baking skills, they say something along the lines of, "I only use boxed mix!"
Time to shock you: So do I.
Not for everything...most of the cupcakes I make are made from scratch, and cookies are ALWAYS from scratch. But to be totally honest, I prefer the taste of boxed brownies to ones from scratch. Plus, when you're mixing other things into them, I don't see a point in making them from scratch. I love using boxed mixes as a base and then adding in other stuff.
In this case, I used Reese's and Oreos. It was my friend Kurt's birthday, so I threw in some colored sprinkles to make them a little more festive. I used a snack bag of mini Oreos, 12 Reese's cups, and a box of milk chocolate brownies. To layer them, all you have to do is put aside some of the cookies/candies while you mix the rest in with the brownie batter. Once you have the batter in the pan, break up the leftover cookies/candies and sprinkle them on top. Bake according to the box, let them cool (if you can), and enjoy!
Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate! And sometimes, real food!
